How to choose a massage chair
Specification sheets are good at listing features and bad at predicting whether you will use a chair every day. These are the six questions we ask people on the floor, in the order they actually matter.
Start with the room, not the chair
A full-size chair needs clearance behind it to recline, often around a foot and a half, plus space in front for the leg rest to extend. Wall-hugging designs slide forward as they recline and give most of that back. Measure first and the shortlist writes itself: the Daiwa Rumba, for instance, is published with a 4.8-inch wall clearance, which is a different conversation from a flagship that needs to sit in the middle of a room.
Decide where you want the massage to stop
This is the single most consequential choice and the one buyers skip. An S-track follows the curve of your spine and stops around the tailbone. An L-track carries on past it and under the seat, so glutes and hamstrings are part of the program. If your lower back is the reason you are shopping, track length decides the chair before any other feature does.
Work out whether depth control matters to you
A 3D mechanism moves the rollers in and out to vary pressure. A 4D mechanism also changes the speed and pause of each stroke, which is what makes the massage read as kneading rather than machinery. Both are good; 4D costs more and suits people who want the chair to feel different from session to session rather than reliably the same.
Rollers and heat are two different approaches
Most of our floor is roller-based. The Ceragem Master line is not: it is thermal spinal care, with warmth doing work that rollers do elsewhere. People arrive convinced they want one and leave having bought the other more often than you would expect, which is the entire argument for trying both in a single visit.
Count everyone who will use it
Fit is personal and a chair that suits one person in a household can be wrong for another. Height is the usual culprit: where the shoulder rollers land is a size problem, not a settings problem, and no program fixes it. Several chairs on our floor body-scan and adapt, but the scan works within the frame it is given.
Set the budget after the shortlist, not before
Price bands are useful for navigating a catalog and misleading for making a decision. The most expensive chair that fits you badly is worse than the cheapest chair that fits you well, and the gap between bands is often one feature you may not care about. Shortlist on fit, then let the budget choose between the finalists.
Mechanisms and tracks, in plain English
Massage chair marketing runs on initials. Here is what the ones you will see across this page actually mean, and who each one is for.

All of this is easier to settle in fifteen minutes on the floor than in an afternoon of reading. Memory for pressure fades fast, so the useful test is running the same body part under two chairs within a few minutes of each other.

BodyFriend11 models
Korean, design-led, and built to sit in a living room without taking it over. The engineering signature across the range is Robo-Walking, a leg mechanism that moves each leg independently instead of holding both in a fixed footrest. Higher up the line the Palace NEO, Medical Phantom and Pharaoh models add stretch programming, independent leg drive and flagship robotics.
Infinity9 models
Engineered in the USA and built around Syner-D, two mechanisms working together so the upper and lower body get their own drive. Below the flagships the line is about 4D depth control and track length, and the Smart Chair X3 is the most connected chair on our floor. The Restora takes the opposite approach and hides the whole mechanism inside furniture.
Kyota8 models
Japanese-inspired 4D massage with L-track coverage and AI body scanning. The range runs from the compact Zenyu M338 up to the Nokori M980, which pairs dual Syner-D mechanisms with the brand's deepest programs. It is the line people cross-shop most often against Infinity, and the two feel genuinely different.
Ceragem9 models
Thermal-massage wellness technology used in more than 70 countries, and the one range on our floor that is not roller-first. The Master series applies adjustable warmth along the spine; the Pause models wrap the same approach in a conventional chair shape. Worth trying even if you came in for something else.
Daiwa3 models
Built by U.S. Jaclean in California, with factory-trained service nationwide since 1982. Three chairs, three distinct jobs: the Supreme Hybrid X flagship with its HybriFlex track and seat ventilation, the Rumba with PediStride walking motion and a 4.8-inch wall clearance, and the iLift, a lift-assist recliner that is also a full L-track massage chair.

We are an authorized dealer for all five brands we carry. The chair you sit in on the floor is the chair specification you take home: genuine parts, factory-trained service and an unbroken chain of custody, which is what warranty claims actually depend on.
Free white-glove delivery
Delivery brings the chair to the room of your choice across the continental US, assembles it, positions it, tests it and removes all the packaging. Our showroom is in San Jose, but where the chair ends up is a separate question from where you decide.
Manufacturer warranty and local service
Coverage comes from the manufacturer and the terms differ by brand and model, so the exact warranty is listed on each product page rather than promised as one number here. Extended protection plans are available, and our team stays in direct contact through any service request.
Financing, HSA/FSA and the Chair Upgrade Program
Financing is available through lending partners, subject to approval. Some chairs may qualify for HSA or FSA funds depending on your plan and documentation. Because chairs are not returnable once delivered and installed, we run a Chair Upgrade Program instead: your chair is credited toward a future model at 20% annual depreciation of the original price.

How much does a premium massage chair cost?
Across the 40 chairs on this page prices currently run from about $2,700 to $17,000. Where a chair lands depends on its mechanism (3D, 4D or dual), how far the track travels, heat, body scanning, materials and warranty. The entry band covers the essentials properly rather than partially, and the flagship band buys engineering rather than trim. Pricing here is live from our catalog, so what you see is what you pay.
Which massage chair brands can I compare in one place?

Being able to put the same body part under two brands within a few minutes is the fastest way to understand what separates them, and it is the reason we keep every chair plugged in.
What is the difference between an S-track and an L-track massage chair?
An S-track follows the curve of your spine and stops around the tailbone. An L-track continues past it and under the seat, so the rollers also cover your glutes and the top of your hamstrings. If lower-back or hip tension is why you are shopping, the L-track is usually the one, and it is a difference you feel immediately rather than one you read about.
Is a 4D massage chair worth the extra cost over 3D?
Both move the rollers in and out to vary depth. A 4D mechanism also varies the speed and pause of each stroke, which makes the massage feel closer to human hands and less repetitive over months of daily use. Whether that is worth the difference is personal. Run the same program on a 3D chair and a 4D chair back to back and most people answer it for themselves in ten minutes.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Every chair listed here is on the floor at our San Jose showroom on Saratoga Avenue, plugged in and ready to use, three minutes from Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair. No appointment is needed and there is no charge to try them whether or not you buy.
Do you deliver outside the Bay Area?
Yes. Free white-glove delivery covers the continental US: into the room of your choice, assembled, positioned, tested and with the packaging taken away. The showroom exists so the decision can be made in person; delivery is a separate matter from location.
What warranty comes with these chairs?
Every chair carries its manufacturer warranty, and the terms vary by brand and model. The exact coverage for a given chair is listed on its own product page, which is the honest way to answer it: quoting one warranty length for a catalog spanning five manufacturers would be wrong for most of them. Extended protection plans are available on request.
Can I return a massage chair if I change my mind?
Because of the size, weight and installation involved, we do not take standard returns once a chair has been delivered and installed. In its place we run the Chair Upgrade Program: you can move to a newer model later with your existing chair credited toward it, depreciated at 20% of the original price per year. It is also why we push so hard for a showroom visit first.
Which massage chair should I buy?
The one that fits your body and your room, which is rarely the one with the longest specification list. Start with track length, decide whether depth control matters to you, rule out anything the room cannot take, then let budget choose between what is left. If you want that done in half an hour rather than over three weeks of tabs, come and sit in three chairs.
