Features, fit limits and warranty for both, read from our live catalog.","These are the two chairs people ask about most, and they are the clearest example of the choice this whole category comes down to.

The Ultra Imperial is Infinity's flagship: it scans you, puts rollers under your feet and runs a stretch program on top. Everything in it exists to do more to your body.

The Pharaoh Q is BodyFriend's flagship, and it competes somewhere else entirely. No body scan, no foot rollers. What it has is a level of industrial design and finish that nothing else on the floor approaches, plus heat and a stretch program built around the whole chair reclining rather than the rollers working harder.

If you read spec sheets, this looks like a one-sided comparison. Sit in both and it stops being one.

:::jump

## The short answer

**The most technically loaded chair on our floor against the most finished one.**

:::verdict
Ultra Imperial Syner-D Massage Chair :: You want the chair to fit you rather than the reverse, and you are on your feet enough that foot rollers matter.
BodyFriend Pharaoh Q :: The chair lives in a room you care about, heat helps you more than coverage does, or finish and materials matter as much as function.
:::

## The two chairs

:::vs ultra-imperial|bodyfriend-pharaoh-q

## Which of these two scans you first?

Only one of these two scans you. The Ultra Imperial measures your shoulder position and spine length before the program starts and places the rollers accordingly. The Pharaoh Q does not scan: its programs run to a fixed path and you adjust around them.

Whether that matters depends on your height. If you are close to average, a fixed path lands roughly where it should. If you are tall, short, or long in the torso relative to your height, a scan is the difference between the neck rollers reaching your neck and reaching the back of your head.

If you want to see every chair we carry with this feature rather than just these two, our [massage chair with body scan collection](/collections/body-scan) lists them with live pricing.

## Side by side, from our catalog

Every figure below is read from our own product records, not from a brochure. More detail on where it sits in the range is in our [Infinity guide](/blog/best-infinity-massage-chairs), and the [Infinity brand page](/brands/infinity) shows current stock.

## BodyFriend Pharaoh Q, in detail

Flagship robotics and Bang & Olufsen sound in a chair built for daily, full-body recovery. The Pharaoh Q sits at the top of the BodyFriend range, and it behaves like it. XD PRO massage technology drives the mechanism deeper and more precisely than the standard modules, while heated massage and PNF stretching programs work the body in sequence rather than in isolation.

What the manufacturer specifies:

- Premium Bang & Olufsen sound system

Current price is $15,000. See the [BodyFriend guide](/blog/best-bodyfriend-massage-chairs) and the [BodyFriend brand page](/brands/bodyfriend).

## Which one, for your specific problem

| If your priority is | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Deep, adjustable pressure | Either | 4D lets the roller change depth during a stroke |
| A stiff lower back in the morning | BodyFriend Pharaoh Q | Heat helps stiffness more than pressure does |
| The chair fitting you rather than the reverse | Ultra Imperial Syner-D Massage Chair | Body scan positions the rollers before the program starts |
| Being on your feet all day | Ultra Imperial Syner-D Massage Chair | Foot rollers are the feature people underestimate |
| Tight hips and hamstrings | Either | A dedicated stretch program does what rollers cannot |
| Massage chair with body scan | Ultra Imperial (the Pharaoh Q does not scan) | Explained in the section above |

## Where the spec sheet stops helping

Roller depth that reads as firm to one person reads as painful to another. A 4D mechanism you never take past its second setting is a feature you paid for and do not use. Heat that feels essential to someone with a stiff lower back feels irrelevant to someone whose problem is their shoulders.

And fit decides more than any of it. A chair that suits someone five foot four can land wrong on someone six foot two, because the shoulder airbags are positioned for a range. If you are near a stated limit, sit in that exact chair.

## Before you decide

Both of these are on one floor at our San Jose showroom, plugged in, no appointment needed. You can run the same program on both within a few minutes, which is the one thing no article can do for you.

:::checklist

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the Ultra Imperial Syner-D Massage Chair better than the BodyFriend Pharaoh Q?

Neither is better in general. The most technically loaded chair on our floor against the most finished one. The tables above show what each chair actually carries so you can decide against your own priorities rather than ours.

### Which one is better value?

Value here depends on whether you will use what you are paying for. A 4D mechanism is excellent value if you use the depth range and poor value if you never leave the second setting.

### Can I try both on the same visit?

Yes, and you should. They are on the same floor. Comparing the same body part on two chairs within a few minutes tells you more than a week of reading.

### What happens if it needs service?

We service the brands we carry in-house, which is the reason we carry a short list of brands rather than nine. Both of these are brands we can fix.

### Does buying online void the warranty?

It can, and it is the most expensive mistake in this category. Manufacturer coverage runs through the authorized dealer network; a chair bought outside it often has no enforceable US warranty. We are an authorized dealer for both. [Our warranty guide](/blog/massage-chair-warranty-and-delivery) explains what the tiers actually cover.

### How much space do I need?

More than most buyers expect, and it varies by model rather than by brand. Every reclining chair needs wall clearance to reach full recline. Ask for the figure for the exact model and measure before you commit.

## Come and sit in them

:::cta Infinity|BodyFriend","Comparison","/img/hero/ultra-imperial.jpg","published",16,"2026-09-30 11:17:18","2026-10-01 11:51:34",null
"bodyfriend-pharaoh-q","BodyFriend Pharaoh Q","BodyFriend",15000,17000,"/img/products/bodyfriend-pharaoh-q/bodyfriend-pharaoh-q-g0.jpg",[27],"Heat
"ultra-imperial","Ultra Imperial Syner-D Massage Chair","Infinity",16999,"/img/hero/ultra-imperial.jpg?v=msx3waey",[35],"Body scan
"columbus-day-2026","Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples Day Event","October Long Weekend Event · October 11, 2026 - October 13, 2026 · Event pricing on select chairs","Event pricing on select chairs","2026-10-13","/covers/blog/how-to-choose-a-massage-chair-cover.jpg
